Gigi Mural

This mural is a heartfelt tribute to Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, a rising star whose legacy continues to inspire. Shown in her #2 Mamba jersey, Gigi represents strength, passion, and the future of women in sports. As a mother, the Founder of ASHE, Elaine was deeply moved by her story and the bond she shared with her father, Kobe Bryant, who used his platform to uplift and champion women athletes.

Created by the talented muralist Mikala Taylor, the mural features one of Kobe’s most powerful quotes: “Bet on Yourself.” This message—also featured in Vanessa Bryant’s jewelry collaboration—is a mantra I live by and wanted to share with others.

Subtle design elements honor iconic female athletes, spark conversation, and celebrate excellence. The names of Gigi’s teammates who tragically passed with her are also included, ensuring their memory lives on.

Butterflies—just like those in the original Kobe Tribute Mural from 2020—symbolize the Bryant family, keeping them forever united in this beautiful artwork.

Why did we decide to commission a Kobe Mural for the side of the building?

We wanted to provide the community, friends, family and fans a place to remember the nine lives that were lost on January 26, 2020. The passengers of the tragic incident that occurred all lived in Orange County and while Kobe is loved by the City of Los Angeles, his home was in Orange County. From there, ASHE collaborated with three talented artists to design a 90-foot mural to pay tribute to Kobe’s legacy and honor all the victims involved. Every piece of the mural was meaningful and our hope was to show the families of the victims that they will all be forever in our hearts.
